Synthetic sponges typically have artificial chemicals added. Natural sea sponges, however, contain natural enzymes that make these gentle on your skin. ?

The lack of synthetic chemicals means sea sponges are a natural alternative choice to artificial sponges.

The sponge will feel hard and dry when delivered. Fully saturate with water and squeeze a few times, it will transform to become lovely & soft.

The sponge is provided in a breathable mesh drawstring bag in which the sponge can be hung up to dry.

Alternatively, the bag can be used to carry toiletries when going to the gym or when travelling.

Please note that sponges should be fully dried before storing.

Because sea sponges are natural organisms, they vary by shape, size, color & texture.

The uneven density within sponges can sometimes give rise to uneven coloration for example. The color of the sponges or marks seen are completely normal and demonstrate the variation one finds in many natural products.

Because of this, please note that the sponge you receive may look slightly different from the images and from previous orders.

The longevity of sponges can be increased if proper care is taken of them. Rinse thoroughly after use and let air dry completely.

To freshen, soak sponges occasionally in warm water with baking soda. Rinse afterwards to ensure all baking soda has washed out completely. A properly cared for sponge can give many months of use.

Please note that it is completely normal that ALL sea sponges, regardless of type or brand, will degrade with use over time.

Harvesting Sea Sponges Does Not Damage them when collected properly.

Our sponges are carefully harvested by experienced divers to ensure that the sponge base remains intact.

This method encourages natural reproduction and re-growth, often resulting in bigger and healthier sponges than its original state.

After harvesting from the ocean, sea sponges are often covered in black slime and contain natural sea debris, such as particles of sand, shell, or other marine materials, embedded in their structure.

Despite careful processing, some particles may remain lodged in the sponge canals, so it is always important to inspect sea sponges prior to use.

These small dark particles, often mistaken for organic remnants or dirt, are natural materials like sea debris or flecks of dried seaweed and are not a cause for concern.

Sea sponges naturally vary in shape and color. The color variations, which can range from bright yellow to dark grey or orange-brown, result from minerals absorbed from the sea.

These differences are normal and do not indicate inferior quality; they reflect the natural beauty of the sea sponge, and there is no need for concern.

Proper maintenance, such as avoiding prolonged dampness and allowing sponges to air dry naturally after use, is recommended to enhance their longevity and preserve their natural appearance.

When delivered, sea sponges will feel hard and dry and may measure smaller than expected.

Please note that sea sponges are sized when wet and subject to some shrinkage when dried and packaged.

To return them to their natural size, fully saturate sponges with water and squeeze a few times. Once rehydrated, they will become soft and restored back to their full size.
