1. Unlock Plates: Ensure the plates are unlocked.

2. Section Hair: Divide your hair into sections suitable for curling (usually 1-inch sections work well). Clip away unused hair.

3. Position & Clamp: Take one section. Clamp the hair midway down the section between the plates.

4. Twist & Wrap: Rotate the styler 180 degrees (half a turn) away from your face, then wrap the remaining length of the hair section around the outside of the heated barrel. Keep the hair flat against the barrel as you wrap.

5. Hold Securely: Hold the hair in this position for 10-15 seconds. Crucially, adjust this time based on your hair's thickness and texture. Fine hair may need less time, while thicker or coarser hair might need closer to 15 seconds. Experiment safely to find what works best for your hair type.

6. Gentle Release: Carefully open the clamp and gently slide the styler downwards out of the hair, allowing the curl to release without pulling or tugging.

7. Set the Curl: For longer-lasting curls, you can catch the warm curl in your palm and let it cool for a few seconds, or pin it loosely to your head while it cools completely.

8. Repeat & Alternate: Continue curling section by section. For a more natural look, consider alternating the direction you twist the iron (away from the face on one section, towards the face on the next).

9. Finish: Once all sections are curled and completely cool, you can gently shake your head, run your fingers through the curls to loosen them, or apply a light hairspray for hold.

This curling method works best on hair that is at least shoulder-length, allowing enough length to wrap around the barrel effectively. It is generally not suitable for very short hair.
